EVALUATIONS
PSYCHOLOGICAL
Psychological evaluations are useful in determining the severity of psychological distress the patient presents, in order to tailor an appropriate treatment plan that will control and reduce the presenting symptoms. Such symptoms may be associated to the presence of depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, and so forth. Also, psychological evaluations are helpful for the referring psychiatrist or neurologist to determine the most effective medication.

NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL
Neuropsychological evaluations are carried out in order to assess brain functioning. The aim of this type of evaluation is to determine whether the patient presents cognitive deficits involving attentional and memory difficulties, executive dysfunction, problem solving, language and/or visuo-constructional difficulties, and what are the effects of these deficits in the patients’ daily life. This information can also guide effective research-based treatment interventions for the rehabilitation of impaired patients. Most times, these patients are referred for neuropsychological assessment by their primary care physician, psychiatrist, or neurologist.

PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL
Psychoeducational evaluations are helpful in establishing a cognitive profile of strengths and weakness of school-age children who present with attentional, learning, and/or behavioral issues. These evaluations usually consist of, but are not limited to, intelligence and academic achievement testing, as well as, behavioral assessment and observation. The results of this type of evaluation are useful in developing an individualized treatment plan that will include individual, family, and school related interventions.

NEURODEVELOPMENTAL
Neurodevelopmental evaluations are conducted in order to obtain a comprehensive assessment of the maturational development of infants to determine the timely appearance of essential milestones across multiple domains during the first years of age. These domains include gross and fine motor abilities, language development, adaptive and social skills, among others. The data gathered by means of this assessment provide valuable information that will ensure that the appropriate early developmental interventions are put into place to prevent the presence of future delays in the learning process.
